Alex Goldstein, CPP, CISSO, holds an Honors BA from York University, double majoring in Criminology and History, a Certified Protection Professional Certification from ASIS International, and a Certified Information Systems Security Officer Certification from the United States Committee on National Security Systems.  

 

In his 15 years of progressive experience servicing the Canadian public sector and private Security industries, Alex: 

 

  • Led the Department of National Defence physical and personnel security efforts in the Greater Toronto Area as a Senior Advisor – providing security audits, threat risk assessments, and risk mitigation strategies to the Canadian Forces commanding officers and National Defence policy and strategy directors. 

 

  • Managed a branch with over 150 uniformed guards and support staff at Securitas – one of Canada’s largest security providers – in the delivery of uniformed security guarding services at industrial and commercial facilities such as Dow Chemicals, Canada Post Distribution Centers, Woodbridge Group, Clean Harbours Canada, Symcor, and others. 

 

  • Developed security strategies, emergency management and disaster recovery policies, and business continuity plans for the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation’s casino and racetrack operations in Ontario as a Security and Asset Protection Manager. 

 

  • Provided Security expertise on high-security Public-Private Partnership infrastructure projects (Brampton Civic and Oakville Memorial Hospitals, Scientific Research and Forensic Laboratories, and Southern Ontario public transit construction projects). 

 

  • Designed, developed, and instructed several security management courses for public and private learning institutions, such as Humber College, Eastern College, Oaksterdam University and others. 

 

  • Consulted on several software and security system integration companies such as whatTOdoToronto, GuardCenter, and TransitHub. 

 

  • Provided subject matter expertise for faith-based security projects – managing security projects in residential communities, places of worship, and sensitive community establishments. 

 

  • Provided Security Program Review and Development services to public and private establishments such as the Regional Municipality of York, London Hydro, Telus, and Paramount Logistics.   

 

  • Provided security, risk, and regulatory guidance to over 400 cannabis production companies/projects in Canada, the United States, The European Union, and Central Asia
